Canine Vaccine Protocols

Puppies & Dogs

DACPP (distemper, adenovirus, coronavirus, parvovirus, parainfluenza) - Puppies receive this vaccine every 2 - 3 weeks until they are 4 months old, and must receive and minimum of 2.  The vaccine is repeated one year later, and then every 3 years thereafter.

RABIES - First given after 3 months of age and then boostered one year later.  The vaccine is valid for 3 years once the puppy/dog has been vaccinated for 1 year.

INTRATRAC (intranasal kennel cough) - Given primarily to dogs that will be in obedience classes, boarded, groomed, or in contact with multiple dogs.  The vaccine is repeated yearly if the dog has continuing risk of exposure.

COUGH GUARD (injectable kennel cough) - Given after 3 months of age and then 2 - 4 weeks later.  If second booster is given before 4 months of age, another booster is recommended at 4 months.

*This vaccine can be used to booster a pet that was previously vaccinated with Intratrac.  The initial series is not necessary.

LYME - Given after 9 weeks of age, then boostered 2 - 3 weeks later, and again at 6 months of age.  HIGHLY recommended for dogs that live in our area.  This vaccine is then boostered annually thereafter.
